Bariga Local Council Development Area played host to the Lagos State House of Assembly House Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development during an official inspection tour of projects executed under the purposeful leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Adedeji Bukola Omope.
The delegation, led by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Okanlawon, embarked on an extensive inspection of various infrastructural and people oriented projects across the council area.
The visit provided the lawmakers with the opportunity to assess firsthand the quality, impact and value of the numerous developmental initiatives undertaken by the present administration.
Speaking during the inspection, Hon. Ogundipe, representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 1, expressed admiration for the remarkable transformation witnessed across Bariga LCDA. He stated that if awards were to be presented to the most outstanding local governments in Lagos State, Bariga LCDA would undoubtedly rank among the very best.
According to him, "Bariga deserves an award for excellence. Considering the volume and quality of infrastructural and developmental projects executed, the council will comfortably occupy either the first or second position among local governments in Lagos State."
Also speaking, Hon. Olusegun Ege, representing Ojo Constituency 1, applauded the outstanding performance of the Chairman and the collective commitment of the political office holders, management team and entire workforce of the council.
He recommended that the political class and management team of Bariga LCDA should be considered for international training programmes to further strengthen their capacity for effective governance and service delivery.
Leading the delegation, Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Okanlawon, described the achievements of the Bariga LCDA administration as exceptional, noting that there was no better adjective to describe the council's infrastructural development than "fantastic." He remarked, "It is a known fact that women are known for delivering the best quality, and this is exactly what you have demonstrated through your impactful projects.

You have a solid team, and the level of coordination, commitment and execution displayed by this administration is highly commendable."
Hon. Okanlawon further encouraged the council to sustain its developmental momentum, stressing that the projects inspected reflect prudent resource management, visionary leadership and an unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of residents.
A major highlight of the inspection exercise was the comprehensive multimedia presentation delivered by the Council's Public Affairs Officer, Mrs. Eunice Shittu, who showcased the administration's achievements through a well-structured projector presentation detailing the various infrastructural and developmental projects executed across Bariga LCDA.
The presentation received widespread commendation from members of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee, who described it as exceptional, articulate and professionally delivered.
The lawmakers applauded Mrs. Shittu for her eloquence, mastery of the projects and outstanding presentation skills, noting that her delivery provided a clear and comprehensive overview of the council's developmental strides.
The Committee remarked that she was the first Public Affairs Officer they had encountered to present the activities and achievements of a local council in such a detailed, organized and impactful manner during an oversight inspection.
In recognition of her professionalism and dedication to duty, the Committee recommended that Mrs. Eunice Shittu be considered for international professional training in public affairs and strategic communications, describing the recommendation as a well-deserved reward for a job excellently done and an encouragement for continued excellence in public service.
Responding, the Executive Chairman of Bariga LCDA, Hon. Adedeji Bukola Omope, expressed profound appreciation to the committee for the visit and the encouraging assessment.
She reaffirmed her administration's commitment to delivering more people-centred projects that will continue to enhance the quality of life of residents and accelerate the socio-economic development of Bariga.
She attributed the administration's achievements to the unwavering support of the people of Bariga, the dedication of the management team and staff, and the enabling environment provided by the Lagos State Government.
The Chairman assured residents that her administration would remain focused on transparency, accountability and sustainable development, ensuring that Bariga LCDA continues to serve as a benchmark for grassroots governance in Lagos State.
The Assembly delegation also paid a visit to the ongoing ICT program embarked on by the administration, the lawmakers charged the ICT beneficiaries to maximize the opportunity given to them by the executive chairman and in turn be an employer of labour after the completion of the ICT Training.
